Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his significant role in promoting freedom of speech. The Nobel Committee has already confirmed this information and sent an email to Musk.
Branko Grims, a Slovenian politician and a member of the European Parliament, shared this news in a post on the social media platform X on Thursday. He also attached the Nobel Committee’s email in the post.
In his post, Grims stated, “Freedom of speech is a fundamental human right, and Elon Musk has long worked towards the expansion and protection of this right. Musk’s team had submitted a petition to the Norwegian Nobel Committee for the Nobel Peace Prize, and the committee has agreed, deciding to nominate him for the 2025 Peace Prize.”
Elon Musk, the owner of the electric car manufacturer Tesla and the space exploration company SpaceX, is also the owner of the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. He acquired Twitter in 2023.
In December, Grims had stated at an event in Brussels that Elon Musk deserved the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in promoting and protecting freedom of speech. He said, “I will send a proposal to the Nobel Committee for Musk to win the Peace Prize next year.”
Within a month of Grims’ statement, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has nominated Musk.
Liberty News’ international correspondent reports that, the Nobel Prize, awarded annually in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature, and Peace, is the most prestigious global award. The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, while the other five categories are awarded by the Swedish Royal Academy.
