Nasrin Siddiqui, wife of Krishak Sramik Janata League founder-president Bangabir Kader Siddique and a central committee member of the party, died at a Dhaka hospital late Saturday night while undergoing treatment for a brain hemorrhage.

Nasrin Siddiqui breathed her last at around 11:30 PM on June 7 at Square Hospital, where she had been admitted since May 22 following a severe brain hemorrhage.

She was 70 years old at the time of her passing and is survived by her husband, one son, one daughter, an adopted daughter, and many well-wishers.

A dedicated political figure in her own right, Nasrin Siddiqui served on the central committee of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, contributing to the party’s grassroots organizing and leadership.

Her first namaz-e-janaza was held after Zohr prayers on Sunday (June 8) at the PTI Ground in Tangail, drawing mourners from across the political and social spectrum. The second funeral prayer was scheduled for after Asr prayers in her ancestral village of Chatihati, Kalihati Upazila, where she will be laid to eternal rest.

Party general secretary Habibur Rahman Talukder Khoka confirmed her death and final arrangements, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of a woman remembered for her grace, dedication, and quiet strength behind one of the nation’s prominent political leaders.
