National Citizen Party’s launch : Students and masses arrive in flocks

The National Citizen Party is holding a grand event for its inauguration in front of the National Parliament building on Manik Avenue. Thousands, mostly students and youth, are coming in vehicles from different parts of the capital to witness the event.

A massive gathering is taking place for the inauguration of the National Citizen Party, which is expected to be a historic moment. The venue is set up with a large stage, VIP seating arrangements, and adequate facilities for attendees, including washrooms and medical assistance.

Leaders and supporters from the National Citizen Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement are arriving in groups from various parts of the country. The crowds are chanting slogans such as “Abu Saeed-Mughdho, The War is Not Over, Power Belongs to the People, People-People,” reflecting their activism and enthusiasm.

The inauguration event will also be attended by the families of martyrs from the July uprising, as well as injured freedom fighters. People from all 64 districts of the country are expected to attend. Political figures, diplomats, and notable personalities will also join the occasion, making it a large-scale affair.

Since early morning, large preparations have been underway in front of the National Parliament building, with significant work done on setting up washrooms, booths, and a police presence. Special arrangements have been made for VIPs and women in the crowd.

According to Mushfik Us Saleheen from the National Citizen Party, access to the event will only be allowed through the western entrance of Manik Miah Avenue, specifically toward the stage area, after noon.

Sources from the National Citizen Committee have confirmed that the party’s leadership team has been finalized, with Nahid Islam appointed as the convener and Akhter Hossain as the general secretary. Other key figures include Senior Joint Convener Samantha Sharmin, Ariful Islam Adib, Senior Joint Secretary Dr. Tasnim Zara, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud, and regional leaders such as Hasnat Abdullah for the southern region and Sarjis Alam for the northern region.

Initially, the party will announce an organizing committee of 151 members, with plans to expand it further over time.

Liberty News’ political correspondent states that earlier, a joint meeting between the National Citizen Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement took place at the central office in Banglamotor, Dhaka.
