The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has called on business organizations to submit their proposals for the 2025-2026 budget, aiming for a more inclusive, business-friendly, and taxpayer-centric financial plan.

In preparation for the upcoming fiscal year, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has requested business associations and chambers to submit their written budget proposals by February 20. These proposals will help shape a more inclusive, public-friendly budget that supports industries, businesses, and taxpayers. The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) is designated as the receiving body, and electronic copies are also to be sent via email.

Al Amin Sheikh, NBR’s information officer, emphasized that the government’s revenue collection policy and budget drafting are guided by input from a variety of stakeholders, including business groups, trade associations, professional organizations, think tanks, and intellectuals. NBR has always sought these insights to develop a budget that balances all interests and fosters broad-based economic growth.

NBR further clarified that even institutions or organizations that are not members of any chamber or association can submit their proposals directly through email at nbrbudget2025@gmail.com.

Liberty News’ economic correspondent states that, with the collaboration of all concerned parties, the NBR aims to craft a budget that is not only industry and business-friendly but also maximizes the country’s revenue potential for the fiscal year 2025-2026.
