Neela Israfil, a prominent leader of National Citizen Party (NCP), has announced her decision to sever all ties with the party, citing a lack of justice and protection for women within the party.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Neela wrote, “I choose ethics, not rogue politics.” She expressed her discontent with what she described as a culture of impunity in the NCP, particularly regarding the mistreatment of women.

“NCP is a political party where no justice is served against wrongdoers. When a woman is harassed, silence is maintained in favor of the offender. I cannot stay in such an environment for a single moment,” she stated.

Neela further added, “When a person who insults, harasses, and tries to socially destroy a woman faces no disciplinary action and instead roams freely under party protection, that party can no longer claim to represent justice or any ideology.”

Declaring her formal departure from the NCP, she wrote, “From today, from this moment, I am cutting all ties with NCP. I gift this party away. I stand for justice and against injustice. Uncompromising protest is my weapon. Even if I walk alone on the path of truth and dignity, I will not retreat.”
