Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Iran will “pay a heavy price” after a missile strike hit Soroka Hospital in the southern city of Beersheba on Thursday. The attack came during a barrage of ballistic missiles launched by Iran, which also impacted areas near Tel Aviv.

“This morning, Iran’s terrorist dictators fired missiles at Soroka Hospital and civilians in central Israel,” Netanyahu said in a post on X, vowing retaliation against Iran’s leadership.

Defence Minister Yoav Gallant echoed the sentiment, declaring that Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would be held personally accountable for the attack.

At the scene, hospital director Shlomi Kodesh confirmed significant damage, including the destruction of several wards and injuries to at least 40 people. He noted that the targeted building had been recently evacuated, likely preventing further casualties.

Iran, however, claimed it was aiming for a military and intelligence base, not a healthcare facility.

The incident marks the seventh consecutive day of deadly exchanges between the two nations. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has kept global observers guessing over possible American involvement, as tensions continue to rise.
