Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed has stated that no decision has been made regarding the dearness allowance for government employees, adding that it will be reviewed once presented to the Ministry of Finance.
Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed clarified that there has been no official declaration concerning the dearness allowance for government officials. Speaking to the press after a meeting at the Secretariat on January 28, he explained that once the matter reaches the Ministry of Finance, it will be evaluated and a formal announcement will follow.
He also noted that the decision to raise allowances for foreign missions had been made some time ago.
Regarding the railway employees’ requests, Dr. Ahmed said that many of their valid demands, including overtime issues, have been addressed. However, due to the nation’s current economic limitations, additional demands cannot be met.
Liberty news’ economic correspondent reports that Dr. Ahmed assured that adequate stocks of rice and wheat will be maintained to prevent shortages during Ramadan.
