The court has imposed a ban on SM Parvez Tamal, the Chairman of NRBC Bank PLC, from leaving the country.
On Sunday (February 9), Dhaka’s Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order in response to a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The petition was submitted by ACC Deputy Director Mustafizur Rahman on behalf of the organization.
The petition states that SM Parvez Tamal, in collusion with others, has earned money through stock market manipulation and other crimes, as well as engaged in money laundering while serving as the Chairman of NRBC Bank PLC. Information has been obtained regarding his attempts to leave the country, and it is necessary to impose a travel ban on him.
