Law enforcement agencies across the country conducted a sweeping operation called Devil Hunt late last night and into this afternoon, resulting in the arrest of 1,308 individuals. Of the total arrests, 274 were made in metropolitan areas, while 1,034 were detained in other regions.
Liberty News’ national correspondent states that the operation was launched in response to the need to maintain public order and bring lawbreakers, including terrorists, under the jurisdiction of the law. The decision to initiate Operation Devil Hunt was made by the interim government following a coordination meeting between various law enforcement agencies at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday.
