Operation Devil Hunt : 81 arrested on third day in Gazipur

On the third day of the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt, police arrested 69 individuals from 8 police stations in Gazipur Metropolitan Police and 12 individuals from 5 police stations in Gazipur district.

On Tuesday morning (February 11), district police and Gazipur Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrests. Most of the detained individuals are leaders, activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner of City Special Branch, Alamgir Hossain, stated that on the third day of Operation Devil Hunt, 69 individuals were arrested across 8 police stations in the city. Among them, 7 were arrested from Tongi East Police Station, 8 from Tongi West, 6 from Gacha, 9 from Basan, 19 from Sadar, and 2 from Pubail, along with others, bringing the total number of arrests in three days to 148.

District Police Superintendent Dr. Chowdhury Md. Jaber Sadeq told Liberty News that on the third day of Operation Devil Hunt, 12 individuals were arrested following a late-night raid across five police stations in Gazipur district. Legal proceedings are already underway against those detained, as authorities continue their crackdown on criminal activity.
