Over 11,000 arrested in ‘Operation Devil Hunt’

The ongoing nationwide crackdown, Operation Devil Hunt, has seen more than 11,000 arrests, with 743 individuals apprehended in the last 24 hours alone.

According to sources from the Police Headquarters, the special joint forces operation has led to a total of 11,313 arrests since its launch on February 8. The operation, involving police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the military, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Ansar forces, is aimed at capturing individuals wanted in various criminal cases and arrest warrants.

In the last 24 hours, law enforcement authorities also arrested 914 more individuals linked to other criminal charges or with outstanding warrants. During the operation, one firearm and two knives were seized.

Liberty News’ crime correspondent states that launched at midnight on February 8, Operation Devil Hunt continues across the country, focusing not only on those with legal cases against them but also on individuals involved in extortion, land grabbing, and terrorism. Authorities are determined to address these pressing security issues and restore order in the country.
