Pakistan high commission in Dhaka marks 78th Independence Day

The Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka celebrated the country’s 78th Independence Day on Wednesday with a flag-hoisting ceremony underscoring Pakistan’s recent military success in Operation Marka-e-Haq.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner (Designate) to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, raised the national flag to the tune of the national anthem.

The event was attended by members of the Pakistani community in Bangladesh, students, local media representatives, academics, think tank members, and High Commission staffm said a press release.

Special messages from Pakistan’s president, prime minister, and deputy prime minister/foreign minister were read out during the ceremony.

In their statements, the leaders congratulated the nation, paid homage to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, and other figures of the Pakistan Movement, and lauded the armed forces and martyrs for their role in the recent military victory.

In his address, High Commissioner Imran Haider congratulated the Pakistani community in Bangladesh and highlighted the significance of Independence Day.

He paid tribute to the nation’s forefathers and described Operation Marka-e-Haq as a major strategic achievement, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding sovereignty and promoting regional stability through unity and swift military action.
