Amid rising tensions, the Pakistani military has shot down an Indian surveillance drone for violating its airspace near the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Kashmir.
The Pakistani Army intercepted and brought down an Indian quadcopter spy drone near the LoC in Azad Kashmir’s Bhimber district on Monday, according to a report by Dawn on Tuesday, April 29.
Security sources revealed that the drone was downed in the Manwar sector after it crossed into Pakistani airspace. State-run media outlets, including Radio Pakistan and PTV News, cited officials confirming the drone’s destruction as a defensive response to the intrusion.
“The enemy was attempting surveillance, but the timely and effective action by our forces foiled the attempt,” said a security official.
The military described the incident as a testament to its vigilance, professionalism, and operational readiness. It further stated that the armed forces remain fully prepared to respond swiftly and decisively to any form of aggression. The people of Pakistan, it added, continue to stand firmly with their military.
