A Dhaka court has granted a fresh two-day remand for former State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, ex-Mayor Atiqul Islam and Diamond World MD Dilip Kumar Agarwala in a murder and attempted murder case.
The remand order was issued on Wednesday morning to facilitate further interrogation of the trio regarding their alleged involvement in the high-profile criminal case.
Investigators argued in court that additional time was necessary to extract crucial information and validate earlier statements. The court agreed, allowing the suspects to remain in custody for another 48 hours.
All three were previously remanded in connection with the same case. However, law enforcers claimed the interrogation had yet to yield satisfactory results.
