The final accounts for the fiscal year 2023-24 show a decline of 46 dollars in per capita income. The previous fiscal year recorded per capita income at 2,784 dollars, which has now decreased to 2,738 dollars.
On Monday (February 10), the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) released this data on their official website.
The BBS also reported a decrease in per capita income when measured in taka. The preliminary calculation in taka was 306,144 taka.
Additionally, the BBS observed that the country’s average per capita income has been on the decline for the past three years. In the fiscal year 2021-22, per capita income had reached an all-time high of 2,793 dollars.
