US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a 15-minute phone conversation with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Professor Mohammad Yunus on Monday evening, discussing a range of bilateral issues and areas for potential cooperation.

The call took place around 7:30 pm and was described as “cordial, friendly, and constructive,” according to Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser.

Alam said both sides exchanged views on enhancing bilateral relations and discussed the scope for expanding cooperation between the two nations in various sectors.

“They emphasized the importance of strengthening mutual ties,” Alam told reporters, adding that the discussion reflects optimism about opening a new horizon of cooperation in the coming days.

This marks a continued effort from both sides to deepen diplomatic and economic engagement at a time when regional and global dynamics are shifting.
