A tragic accident in Gazipur’s Kaliganj upazila resulted in the death of three people, including the driver, when a pickup truck lost control and overturned into a ditch.
The accident occurred at around 6:30 AM on Wednesday on the Azmatpur-Itakhola regional highway, near Noapara Haridebpur area of Kaliganj, Gazipur. A pickup truck, carrying cucumbers from Narshingdi to Joydebpur, lost control while trying to overtake an auto-rickshaw. The truck veered off the road and fell into a deep ditch, approximately 15 feet deep.
According to Liberty News’ local sources, the truck’s windows were unable to be opened due to the presence of water in the ditch, trapping the driver and two passengers inside. Unfortunately, they could not escape, and all three perished at the scene.
Police arrived at the site and recovered the bodies.
