Former Bangladesh national team captain and wicketkeeper-batter Khaled Mashud Pilot has resigned from the executive committee of the Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB).
Pilot submitted his resignation letter to the CWAB president on Sunday, citing his recent election as a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as the reason behind his decision. He said the move was aimed at maintaining transparency and integrity between the two organisations.
“It was a great honour and pride for me to serve as an executive member of CWAB,” Pilot wrote in his resignation letter. “As I have recently been elected as a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, I am stepping down from my position at CWAB with immediate effect to uphold transparency and integrity between both institutions.”
Pilot was elected unopposed as a CWAB executive member alongside national cricketers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Earlier this month, on 6 October, he was elected as a BCB director from Category 3, securing 35 out of 42 valid votes, while his opponent, CWAB’s former general secretary Debabrata Paul, managed seven votes.
Khaled Mashud represented Bangladesh in 44 Tests and 126 ODIs, scoring 1,409 and 1,818 runs respectively.
