A police team attempting to arrest former Narayanganj City Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy was surrounded by her supporters during a late-night raid at her residence in Deobhog.
The incident occurred around midnight on Thursday when law enforcement officials entered Ivy’s house to execute an arrest operation. As the police made their way inside, supporters of the former mayor swiftly encircled the premises, effectively trapping the officers.
According to sources, the police later sought assistance from military personnel for their safe extraction. Officers remained inside the house, awaiting backup.
