Professor Anwarul Islam, the candidate of Jamaat in Kurigram-1

Md. Moniruzzaman, Bhurungamari (Kurigram) Correspondent : Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has finalized the candidate for the 25 Kurigram-1 (Bhurungamari-Nageshwari) constituency in the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections.

On Saturday (February 22), in the afternoon, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Kurigram district Amir, Professor Maulana Mohammad Abdul Matin Faruqi confirmed this. He said that the candidates for the four parliamentary seats in Kurigram district have been finalized, and their names have been officially announced by the central party.

In response to a question, he mentioned that the central party makes the decision on fielding candidates based on the opinions of the local organization.

The parliamentary seat 25 Kurigram-1 is composed of 25 unions from Bhurungamari-Nageshwari Upazila and Kachakata Police Station. The name of Professor Anwarul Islam has been announced as the candidate for Jamaat in this constituency. He is the former president of the Karmichael College, Rangpur branch of Chhatra Shibir, former secretary of the Rangpur city Jamaat, former Nayeb-e-Amir, member of the Rangpur-Dinajpur region, currently serving as the head of the Economics Department at Rangpur Model College. He is a resident of Baghandar village in Bhurungamari Sadar Union, under Kurigram district.

Regarding this, Professor Anwarul Islam stated that he has accepted the decision of the organization. He will continue to work towards establishing a society based on justice and fairness , will strive to keep the Kurigram-1 constituency free from terrorism & corruption.
