The interim government is set to add another adviser to its cabinet, with Professor C R Abrar likely to take the oath on Wednesday.
According to government sources, former Dhaka University professor and human rights activist C R Abrar will be appointed as the interim administration’s education adviser.
Transport department sources confirmed that the Cabinet Division has instructed them to prepare a vehicle for him by tomorrow.
Currently, Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud serves as the adviser for education and planning.
The latest appointment comes after the resignation of Md. Nahid Islam from the advisory council on February 25. Following his resignation, Mahfuz Alam was appointed as the Information and Broadcasting Adviser.
Liberty News’ national correspondent states that the interim government, led by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, was formed on August 8 following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s administration amid mass protests. Since then, several new advisers have been appointed, bringing the total number to 22.
