To ensure fair and peaceful SSC and equivalent examinations beginning Thursday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has restricted public access within 200 yards of all exam centers.
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations under nine general education boards will commence nationwide on Thursday, with over 19.28 lakh students participating. Of them, 14.90 lakh are under general education boards, 2.94 lakh under the Madrasah Education Board, and 1.43 lakh under the Technical Education Board.
To maintain a strict, fair, and cheat-free exam environment, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has issued firm directives. Legal action will be taken against anyone involved in question paper leaks, rumors, or use of unfair means.
According to the Dhaka Education Board’s schedule, the exams will run from April 10 to May 13, beginning with Bangla First Paper. Written exams will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Practical exams are scheduled from May 15 to 22.
In a public notice signed on Wednesday, the DMP Commissioner stated that under Sections 28 and 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III of 1976), unauthorized public entry within 200 yards of examination venues is strictly prohibited during the exam hours starting April 10.
Liberty News’ campus correspondent states that the restriction aims to prevent external interference, maintain discipline, and ensure smooth conduct of the exams. Only candidates and exam-related personnel will be allowed within the restricted zone.
