New Zealand’s star batter Rachin Ravindra has praised the pace and skill of Bangladesh’s emerging pacer Nahid Rana after their Champions Trophy clash on February 24.

Though Bangladesh lost by 5 wickets to New Zealand in their opening match of the Champions Trophy, Rana’s impressive performance with the ball did not go unnoticed. In his first-ever ICC tournament match, the young pacer bowled with great speed and accuracy, conceding 43 runs from 9 overs and taking the crucial wicket of veteran batter Kane Williamson.

Speaking highly of Rana’s ability, Ravindra stated, “Bangladesh’s bowling line-up is fantastic. With players like Taskin, Mustafiz, and now Rana, they have a strong attack. He’s an incredibly talented bowler, and it’s exciting to see his progress. I hope to play against him more in the future.”

Liberty News’ sports correspondent states that despite the loss, Ravindra credited the pressure created by Bangladesh’s bowlers, mentioning his partnership with Tom Latham, who scored 55 runs to steer New Zealand to victory. Ravindra added, “In chase situations like this, there’s no need to rush. Playing good shots helps move the game forward.”
