Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, has emphasized that no election should be held without comprehensive electoral reforms, warning that such a move would betray the aspirations of the people’s uprising.
Speaking at a reunion of former Islami Chhatra Shibir members in Bogura, Rafiqul Islam Khan said necessary reforms must be completed before any national election. He warned those opposing reform and demanding quick elections, stating that the people will no longer accept misrule. Jamaat also announced candidates for seven constituencies in Bogura. Khan criticized the current government and claimed that only through reform and honest leadership could the country be free from corruption and oppression. He also warned those supporting the former prime minister, labeling them as remnants of fascism.
