Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has called for a thorough investigation into whether a deeper cause lies behind the recent spate of fires.
He made the remark late Tuesday after distributing relief to victims of the Korail slum fire in Dhaka’s Mohakhali.
He said Jamaat would continue supporting affected families as much as possible.
Lauding the media for spotlighting public hardship, he expressed hope that journalists would remain committed partners in the effort to build a more just and resilient society.
