Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has warned that they will not let the achievements of July go in vain, saying they are ready to shed blood or even give their lives again if necessary.

He declared, “If ghee doesn’t come out with a straight finger, we’ll bend it. We must get the ghee.”

Taher made the remarks on Thursday (November 6) at a brief rally in Paltan before submitting a memorandum to the Chief Adviser as part of a pre-announced program.

Taher said, “A referendum must be held before the national election. No hanky-panky—only a straight referendum. Start the dialogue immediately. The government must play its role.”

He added that the government should act as a referee in the dialogue among political parties. “We have already formed a committee for inter-party dialogue,” he said. “We call on the BNP to also take the initiative to join the talks.”

Party leaders further stated that the referendum and reforms must be ensured before any election, warning that no delay tactics will be accepted.
