Bangladesh confirmed five new COVID-19 infections in the 24 hours till Monday morning, with no new fatalities, health authorities said.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the latest cases bring the country’s total confirmed caseload to 2,021,747 since the pandemic began.
No new deaths were reported, keeping the official death toll unchanged at 29,500.
A total of 41 samples were tested during the period, resulting in a daily positivity rate of 12.20 percent.
The national recovery rate remains unchanged at 98.42 percent, while the overall case fatality rate holds steady at 1.44 percent, the DGHS added.
