Bangladesh’s young leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has made a remarkable leap in the latest ICC ODI rankings following his brilliant all-round performances against the West Indies.
His consistent contributions with both bat and ball have propelled him 87 places up to 37th in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings, a career high.
After two matches in the ongoing home series, which stands level at 1-1, Rishad has also jumped 65 places to reach 68th in the ODI bowling rankings, another career-best position with 430 rating points.
Rishad’s impact has been immense in both games. In the second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday, he smashed 39 off just 14 balls with three fours and three sixes before taking 3 wickets for 42 runs in his 10 overs, the best bowling figures for Bangladesh in that match. Earlier, in the first ODI, he had produced a stunning performance, claiming 6 wickets for 35 runs, his career-best figures, after scoring 26 off 13 balls.
