Bangladesh’s young leg-spinner Rishad Hossain continues to dazzle in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), delivering another match-winning performance for Lahore Qalandars with his crafty spin.
In his second PSL appearance, Rishad Hossain once again proved his mettle by helping Lahore Qalandars thrash Karachi Kings by 65 runs on Tuesday night at the National Bank Stadium. The 21-year-old bagged three key wickets for just 26 runs in his four-over spell, playing a vital role in dismantling the Karachi batting lineup.
Batting first, Lahore posted an imposing total of 201 runs. In reply, Karachi Kings crumbled under pressure, folding for 136 runs, thanks to a lethal bowling display by Rishad and captain Shaheen Shah Afridi. Both claimed three wickets each, though Rishad stood out with his tighter economy, conceding eight fewer runs than Afridi.
With this performance, Rishad’s wicket tally rose to six in just two matches, making him the current leading wicket-taker of the tournament. His debut figures of 3 for 31 against Quetta Gladiators were impressive, but his consistency is now drawing wider attention from fans and analysts alike.
Rishad’s emergence as a top performer in a competitive league like the PSL hints at a bright future for the Bangladeshi spinner on the international stage.
