BNP Senior Joint Secretary Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has stated that the increase in sexual assault incidents is due to the lack of authority in the administration. He emphasized that if previous cases were properly addressed, the current situation could have been avoided.

Speaking at a rally and meeting organized by the Nationalist Women’s Party in front of BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan on Monday (March 10), Rizvi said, “If the administration had taken action in earlier cases, these incidents would not have occurred.”

He criticized the current government for creating an environment where children’s safety is compromised. “If a child is not safe at home, where else would they be safe?” he questioned.

Rizvi also blamed the lack of moral education in schools, claiming that the current government has manipulated textbooks to include political stories instead of focusing on values. He criticized the ruling party for creating anarchy and corruption by appointing corrupt leaders in key positions.

He further remarked that the rise in sexual harassment cases signifies that women are no longer safe, and assured that BNP’s acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is taking legal actions for victims of such crimes.

Liberty News’ political correspondent states that Rizvi also questioned the lack of administrative control at the grassroots level and criticized the interim government for responding to complaints with personal bias and revengeful tactics. He added that students should focus on protesting injustices within their campus and not engage in actions outside their scope, like interfering in administrative offices.
