Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked speculation about leaving Al Nassr after their final league defeat and his personal milestone of 800 career goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo may be nearing the end of his chapter with Saudi club Al Nassr, as suggested by his latest social media post following their 3-2 loss to Al Fateh on Monday night. Despite scoring his 99th goal for the club—and the 800th of his professional career—Ronaldo’s message hinted at a possible departure.

“This chapter is closed. But the story is still being written. Grateful to all,” the Portuguese star wrote, prompting speculation about his next move.

Al Nassr, already out of the Saudi Pro League title race and absent from the upcoming AFC Champions League, had a forgettable season. Ronaldo’s potential exit could deepen the club’s wounds.

Though Ronaldo’s contract runs until June 30, reports suggest he may leave earlier to join a club participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, set to begin on June 14 in the United States with 32 teams. FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently hinted at Ronaldo’s possible appearance in the tournament, despite Al Nassr failing to qualify.

Transfer windows for Club World Cup participants will be open from June 1 to 10, fueling rumors that Ronaldo may join a qualified team in pursuit of international glory. Whether he makes that move remains to be seen.
