The 15th edition of the SAFF Championship, initially scheduled for mid-2025, will not take place this year due to unresolved venue complications.

The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has decided to reschedule the 2025 SAFF Championship, delaying the tournament until next year. Originally planned for June–July, the event has been postponed following ongoing uncertainties surrounding the host venue.

Though the decision is not yet final, Sri Lanka had been speculated as a potential host. However, with no official confirmation and logistical issues unresolved, SAFF opted to shift the competition to ensure a smoother and more organized tournament in the future.

The SAFF Championship is the premier football competition in South Asia, and its postponement is a setback for participating nations preparing for regional rivalry and continental ranking points. Further announcements regarding the new schedule and host country are expected in the coming months.
