SAFF has appointed Purushottam Kattel, a football organizer from Nepal, as its new General Secretary, succeeding Anwarul Haq Helal.
Purushottam Kattel will officially assume his role as the General Secretary of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) in April. He replaces Anwarul Haq Helal, who recently stepped down from the position.
Kattel, who previously served at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), expressed his enthusiasm for the new opportunity. “This is a great opportunity and challenge for me,” he said, extending his gratitude to SAFF President Kazi Salahuddin.
Salahuddin praised Kattel’s extensive experience. “He has significant expertise. He has been involved in administrative activities in the international relations department and has contributed to organizing and managing football tournaments across Asia,” Salahuddin noted.
