Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha called on his players to stay aggressive ahead of the Asia Cup final against India, scheduled on Sunday in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

After two heavy losses to India, Pakistan reached the final by defeating Bangladesh by 11 runs on Thursday.

In the pre-match press conference on Saturday, Salman said, “Every individual has their own way. If a player wants to be aggressive, then why not? If you take aggression away from a fast bowler, then there’s nothing left.”

On player conduct, he added, “Every player knows how to deal with their emotions. I give the players a free hand unless they are disrespecting someone or causing disrespect to our country.”

Salman addressed India’s post-match handshake refusal, “I’ve been playing since 2007, I’ve never seen teams not shake hands … I don’t think there has been an instance of players not shaking hands.”

On reports of Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav skipping the captains’ photoshoot, he said: “That’s their choice… if he doesn’t want to, then that’s up to him.”

He concluded with confidence that Pakistan had “saved their best for the final.”
