Rising actress Sarika Sabah has joined the cast of ‘Gulmohar,’ her first big-budget web series directed by Syed Ahmed Shawki, which is set to stream on an OTT platform soon.
Popular among the younger generation, Sarika Sabah is set to make her mark in the upcoming web series Gulmohar, a high-budget production directed by acclaimed filmmaker Syed Ahmed Shawki. Although the character she plays remains under wraps, Sabah has expressed high hopes for the project.
“I’ve worked in several web series before, including Musbit by Bongo, but Gulmohar is the first time I’ve been part of a big-budget production,” said Sabah. “The story revolves around family issues, and though I can’t reveal details about my role yet, I gave my full effort to portray the character authentically.”
The series, which has yet to announce its official release date, will be promoted through a press conference soon. Sabah praised Shawki’s meticulous direction and expressed confidence that the audience will connect emotionally with the story once it goes public.
In addition to her work on Gulmohar, Sarika is currently not taking on any TV drama projects, although she plans to return to the small screen shortly. Her recent dramas include Dui Jonakir Golpo, Eid Card, and Me & My Ex, where she starred opposite Sohel Mondol, Jovan, and Tousif Mahbub respectively.
While stepping back from dramas for the time being, Sabah remains active in the advertising world. Her recent commercials—Vim Liquid, directed by Shankhadas Gupta, and bKash, directed by Sabrina Iron—have received notable audience response.
A Computer Science and Engineering graduate from North South University, Sarika Sabah continues to be selective in her acting projects, prioritizing quality over quantity in her evolving career.
