Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for the “occupation” of Gaza and the forced relocation of Palestinians. Instead, he proposed a U.S.-led Marshall Plan for the Gaza Strip.
While speaking at the Munich Security Conference, the former Saudi intelligence chief dismissed Trump’s proposal as “ineffective” and called on Washington to assist in the reconstruction of Gaza. He also emphasized the need to allow Gaza’s residents to remain in their homeland.
In an interview with Hadley Gamble of Al Arabiya News, Prince Turki stated, “The area is full of alternatives. There is the Arab Peace Initiative. It is a great alternative that will consider the final resolution of the conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors.”
He further added, “The Marshall Plan implemented in Europe after World War II could be considered for Gaza. America rebuilt the entire continent. The people stayed in their place; they did not remove Europeans from Europe to construct it.”
Trump made this proposal just a few days after announcing plans to ‘occupy’ Gaza and remove the Palestinians.
Liberty News’ international correspondent reports that at the beginning of this month, U.S. President Donald Trump announced in a press conference his plan to “occupy” war-torn Gaza, rebuild it, and turn it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” His proposal aims to relocate the Palestinians elsewhere.
