Saudi Arabia has imposed a temporary visa ban on travelers from 13 countries, including Bangladesh, as part of its preparations for the upcoming Hajj season. The move aims to streamline pilgrimage operations and ensure the smooth management of religious duties.

According to a report by the Pakistan Observer, Saudi authorities have suspended the issuance of various visa types—such as Umrah, business, and family visit visas—for nationals of the listed countries. The restriction is expected to remain in effect until mid-June and is not considered permanent.

Individuals already holding Umrah visas are permitted to enter Saudi Arabia until April 13. After this date, no Umrah visa holders from the affected countries will be allowed entry.

The countries affected by the ban are: Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, and Yemen.

Sources warn that violating the temporary ban may result in severe penalties, including a five-year entry ban or even being declared persona non grata permanently, depending on the nature of the violation.

Liberty News’ international correspondent states that Saudi Arabia is reportedly intensifying its efforts to manage the high influx of pilgrims during the Hajj season, aiming to provide better facilities and security for all worshippers.
