Tangail district administration has imposed Section 144 at Eidgah ground in Borobashalia to prevent any potential clashes. The directive was issued through an official order from the District Commissioner’s office on Sunday (March 30).
The decision was taken by District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque amid concerns over possible deterioration of law and order during Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Borobashalia Eidgah in Tangail Sadar Upazila.
Liberty News’ local correspondent reports that according to the order, all forms of gatherings, slogans, processions, rallies, picketing, use of loudspeakers, beating of drums, disruption, carrying of sticks, weapons, explosives, and unauthorized entry within a 400-yard radius of the Eidgah ground have been strictly prohibited.
District Magistrate Sharifa Haque stated that Section 144 will remain in effect from 5:00 AM to 6:30 PM on Eid day to ensure law and order.
