Sharmin Ahmad and Tanjim Ahmad Sohel Taj, daughter and son of Tajuddin Ahmad, have invited Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus to attend the birth centenary celebration of the late national leader on 23 July.
The invitation was handed over during a meeting on Thursday at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka.
On the occasion, Sharmin Ahmad presented Prof Yunus with a copy of her book, “Tajuddin Ahmad: Neta O Pita”, a biography highlighting her father’s legacy.
Tajuddin Ahmad served as the first prime minister of Bangladesh during the 1971 Liberation War and played a pivotal role in the country’s independence movement. Despite his contributions, some allege that his role has long been downplayed by the Sheikh Mujib family and sections of the Awami League leadership.
