Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Bangladesh’s interim government head, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, on Eid day (March 31), exchanging festive greetings. During the call, Shehbaz extended an invitation to renowned Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila and a group of musicians to visit Pakistan.

In a post on social media platform X, Shehbaz Sharif confirmed the discussion and announced that a Pakistani delegation, including the foreign minister, would visit Dhaka on April 22. He also invited Dr. Yunus to visit Pakistan at his convenience.

Expressing optimism about bilateral ties, Shehbaz stated, “InshaAllah, the future of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations is very bright.”

Runa Laila, a celebrated singer across the subcontinent, began her career at just 12 years old in the 1964 Pakistani film Jugnu. She made her Bangladeshi film debut with the song Ganer Khatai Swaralipi Likhe before permanently relocating to Bangladesh in 1974.
