Jahanara Abedin, wife of Zainul Abedin, a prominent Bangladeshi artist known as Shilpacharya, died of old-age complications at a hospital in Dhaka on Thursday. She was 94.
Dhaka University Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of her.
In a message of condolence, the VC said that Jahanara Abedin had a remarkable contribution to the success of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin.
Dr Niaz Ahmed prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
