New, chilling details have surfaced in the preliminary autopsy report on the brutal killing of Layla Afroza and her daughter Nafisa Lawal Binte Aziz in Mohammadpur. The report reveals the horrifying extent of violence inflicted on the victims.
According to the findings, Afroza’s body bore around 30 injury marks across different parts. Her 15-year-old daughter, Nafisa, had four deep wounds on her neck.
The report states that Afroza sustained three injuries on her left cheek, four on her chin, five below the left side of her neck, three on her left arm, one on her left wrist, two on her right wrist, nine on the left side of her chest, two on the left side of her abdomen, and one injury below the lower abdomen.
Meanwhile, four deep wounds were identified on both sides of Nafisa’s chest. Both victims died due to excessive bleeding caused by sharp-weapon injuries.
Officials involved in the inquiry said they have not encountered such a gruesome crime scene in recent times. Based on the brutality and precision of the attack, investigators suspect that the killer may have been a trained individual.
A police source confirmed that during the crime scene sweep, officers recovered a Chinese switch gear and a sharp knife from the bathroom. Authorities believe these weapons were likely used to kill the mother and daughter.
Speaking on the case, Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mejbah Uddin said that preliminary information has been collected and is currently being verified. “CCTV footage is being analyzed to track the movements and activities of individuals present before and after the incident,” he added, noting that these findings will guide the next steps of the investigation.
