There has been much speculation for a long time surrounding the biographical film of former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly. Questions were raised about which Bollywood actor would portray Sourav in the film.

Initially, Ayushmann Khurrana’s name was mentioned for the biopic, followed by rumors of Ranbir Kapoor being cast. However, Sourav himself has now provided a possible answer to the question.

Last Thursday, while attending an event in Bardhaman, West Bengal, Sourav addressed the media and said, “I’ve heard that Rajkummar Rao will play my character. However, there are some issues regarding the shooting schedule, so it will take more than a year for the film’s release.”

The life story of the former captain, who is known as the unsung hero behind the transformation of Indian cricket, is being planned for the silver screen. Finally, Rajkummar Rao’s name has emerged as the lead actor for the film. Known for his remarkable acting skills in Bollywood, Rajkummar is now set to step onto the field to portray the ‘Prince of Kolkata’.
