Superintendent of Police (SP) Tanvir Saleheen Imon has been detained from the Bangladesh Police Academy. On Tuesday (February 11) at around 10 PM, a team from the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested him from the Rajshahi Sarda Police Academy.
Additional Deputy Inspector General (Crime Management) of Rajshahi Range, Sarwar Zahan, stated, “A DB team from Dhaka came last night and took SP Tanvir Saleheen Imon. The DB can explain the reason and the charges for his detention.”
Previously, he served as the Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters and Administration) of DMP. After the fall of the Awami League government, he was appointed as the Superintendent of Police (Basic Training-2) at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarda.
It is known that Tanvir Saleheen’s home is in Kishoreganj. His father, Bir Muktijoddha Md. Iqbal, was the former General Secretary of the Awami League’s Karimganj Upazila branch. Tanvir Saleheen joined the police force in 2010 through the 28th BCS Police cadre. He received the IGP badge in 2016 and the President’s Police Medal (PPM) in 2017. Throughout his career, he was awarded as the best circle officer of Comilla district police. Tanvir Saleheen was promoted to the position of Superintendent of Police (SP) in 2022.
