With Eid-ul-Fitr approaching, Bangladesh Railway authorities have advised passengers to purchase train tickets through the designated app or directly at the counters to avoid any inconvenience or fraud.

Starting from Friday, March 14, ticket sales for Eid journeys have begun. Due to high demand, there is a possibility of black-market ticket sales by unscrupulous individuals or organizations, which could lead to passenger harassment or fraud.

To avoid such issues, the Ministry of Railways and Bangladesh Railway have recommended that passengers use the official “Rail Sheba” app or buy tickets directly from the authorized counters.

It is important to note that a maximum of four tickets can be bought per ID for Eid travel. The system also allows passengers to input the names of their companions. All tickets for the Eid journey will be sold online. Tickets will not be sold through any other means except for the designated app (Rail Sheba) or counters.

Passengers who purchase tickets from unauthorized sources will definitely be at risk of being scammed.

Ticket sales schedule:

  • Tickets for March 26 will be available on March 16
  • Tickets for March 27 will be available on March 17
  • Tickets for March 28 will be available on March 18
  • Tickets for March 29 will be available on March 19
  • Tickets for March 30 will be available on March 20

Liberty News’ correspondent states that Railway authorities have also mentioned that tickets for March 31, April 1, and April 2 may be sold depending on the sighting of the moon.
