The Coast Guard has arrested Mujibur Rahman, the Chairman of St. Martin’s Union Parishad and President of the local Awami League, along with 12,274 yaba pills.
On Saturday morning, Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Hak, Media Officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, confirmed this information.
He stated that, based on intelligence, it was learned that Mujibur Rahman (53), the Chairman of St. Martin’s Union Parishad and President of the Union Awami League, had stocked a large quantity of drugs (yaba) at his house for the purpose of trafficking.
Based on this information, the Bangladesh Coast Guard Eastern Zone conducted a raid at his residence at 3:50 AM on Friday night. Upon noticing the Coast Guard, Mujibur Rahman attempted to flee, but the Coast Guard apprehended him. Afterward, a search of his house led to the seizure of 12,274 yaba pills.
