Global satellite internet provider Starlink has officially launched its services in Bangladesh, offering high-speed, unlimited data packages with nationwide availability.

Starlink’s entry into Bangladesh was confirmed on Tuesday morning via a Facebook post by Faoyez Ahmad Tayeb, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister’s Adviser for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology.

In his post, Tayeb wrote, “Starlink has officially started operations in Bangladesh. They informed me over a phone call Monday afternoon and confirmed the launch today on their X handle.”

Initially, Starlink is offering two packages—Starlink Residence and Residence Lite, priced at Tk 6,000 and Tk 4,200 per month respectively. A one-time setup fee of Tk 47,000 will be required for the necessary equipment.

“There are no speed or data caps,” Tayeb said, adding that users can enjoy up to 300 Mbps unlimited speed.

Consumers in Bangladesh can start placing orders immediately. The launch fulfills the Prime Minister’s Adviser’s earlier goal to introduce Starlink within 90 days, Tayeb noted, congratulating all involved parties.

Although the service is relatively expensive, Tayeb emphasized that Starlink creates a sustainable high-speed internet solution for premium users. He also expressed hope that this move will expand business opportunities for providers in remote areas where fiber or fast internet services are still unavailable.
