Stocks keep declining in early trading

Stocks dropped points in the first hour of trading today, following losses in the previous two sessions. The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, dropped 9.52 points or 0.18 percent to 5,157 as of 11 am. Around 120 issues advanced, 137 declined, and 102 remained unchanged. Total turnover stood at Tk 72.16 crore.

Shares of Mithun Knitting and Dyeing surged the highest 9 percent, while shares of Keya Cosmetics plunged 10 percent. CSE All Share Price Index was down 0.31 percent, losing 46.16 points to 14,402.89

Liberty News’ economic correspondent reports that the stock market has been down since 2024 with no signs of a revival so far, with hundreds of thousands of investors counting big losses everyday.
