BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has asked its party leaders and activists to secure the trust of every voter ahead of the national election scheduled for February.

In a post on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, he wrote, “One of our key responsibilities is to secure the trust of every voter in the country. To achieve this, as a democratic political party, the BNP is reaching out to people from all walks of life—from the grassroots to every class and profession of society—to reflect the hopes and aspirations of today’s and tomorrow’s youth. We are strengthening the party’s organizational structure from the villages to the centre. Through this coordinated effort, we aim to ensure transparency and accountability.”

In response to various allegations, organizational action has already been taken against more than 7,000 party members. Some have been removed from their positions, while many have been expelled for corruption, extortion, and misconduct. Making such decisions was not easy amidst widespread misinformation, but they were essential given the circumstances. Discipline is not a weakness; rather, it is our strength. By holding our own members accountable, we have once again proven that the BNP is sincere about integrity and that we hold ourselves to the same standards we demand from those in power.

This is how we want to rebuild public trust, especially among the youth, who do not want to see politics as merely a game of power but as a noble field built on everyone’s participation.

To meet the demands and challenges of the times, the BNP has consistently modernised itself. We are strengthening our direct connections and communication with the people. Our policies are built on a 31-point program that includes promises for education, healthcare, youth employment, climate change, and digital innovation. We prioritise inclusivity, ensuring greater participation from women, young leaders, and professionals so that the nation can move forward and politics remains dedicated to serving the people. We want the BNP’s identity to be a symbol of service, justice, and efficiency, not of division or privilege.

The current challenges in Bangladesh are unique, and therefore, our actions must be guided by new thinking. However, we do not deny history; rather, we want to move forward on its foundation. Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman showed people a ray of hope by bringing back multi-party democracy and placing the empowerment of the people at the heart of politics. And Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia fought uncompromisingly against autocracy and fascism to establish democracy and the rights of the common people. Today, we are moving into a new era with their aspirations at the forefront, where integrity, young leadership, and global competitiveness will be crucial foundations for nation-building.

Holding on to its tradition, the BNP is prioritizing the journey of building a disciplined, forward-looking, and modern Bangladesh. We know that the youth want real opportunities, not empty rhetoric. The people want stability, not chaos. And the world wants Bangladesh to be a credible and respected democratic state. We are determined to fulfill these expectations.

To my colleagues and leaders, I want to say: let us remain united, disciplined, and committed to the service of the people. Just as I have faith in each of you, you too must have faith in me. Only then will the path of democracy become even brighter. Together, we will prove that it is possible to build an accountable state system, a stable institutional framework, and a future desired by the people in Bangladesh, Insha’Allah.
