BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to return to Bangladesh in the first week of December, BNP Chairperson’s Security Adviser Major General (Retd.) Fazle Elahi Akbar said.

Fazle Elahi confirmed the information in an exclusive interview with Somoy News on Saturday.

Party sources said that after spending a long time abroad, Tarique Rahman will stay next to his mother’s house in Dhaka upon his return. The house at 196 Gulshan Avenue is being prepared for him.

Meanwhile, the office where he will work after returning is also being renovated. Security measures have been strengthened at the BNP Chairperson’s Office on Road 86, Gulshan-2.

Before returning to Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman had planned to travel to Saudi Arabia this month to perform Umrah, but due to the current situation, he has decided to postpone the pilgrimage until after the national election, said Fazle Elahi Akbar.

It is worth mentioning that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has been living in London, United Kingdom, since September 2008.
